Hi all,

In the 3MX distro, when you insert a wireless modem when X and the WM are running, you get a popup with ppp-wireless application. How does this work? Can anyone point out to me where the detection and actions are specified?
I want the machine to be dialing my ISP when my 3g modem is inserted in console mode! (or when not even logged in, both is fine!)

Thanks in advance,

W

I borrowed ‘desktop-backend’ from the default OS to handle auto detection and auto mounting/unmounting in 3MX. However it only works with X running as you’ve noticed. I found no other easy way. I suppose you could write some scripts to do the same thing i guess. Good luck. :)
